A century of interstellar tug-of-war has depleted more than half of the Federation's conventional military strength, and the regular fleet is unable to cover the entire galaxy's defense line. In order to revitalize the combat power and consume the lower-level troops, the Federation secretly launched the universal militarization system of the Star War Game, integrating all frontline soldiers, colonial volunteers, and serving combat forces into the gamified combat power system. Merits, levels, talents, skills, and exclusive equipment were bound to the life-and-death battlefield, data was used to quantify war, and rewards were used to drive the fighting.
