The Three-Body Problem: Making a TV Show from the Start, Then the Aliens Really Arrive!

At a funeral, physics prodigy Yang Dong is mourning her mentor when a line suddenly explodes in her ears: "Physics no longer exists!" She jerks her head up. On the screen is a female scientist who shares her name and looks just like her in both appearance and temperament. The scientist has just chosen to end her own life. Even more bizarre, every experiment and failed result in the show exactly matches the Beishan particle-collider project Yang led.

A science-fiction series called The Three-Body Problem is airing to great acclaim in Longguo. Its director, Luo Ji, is attending his late mentor's funeral. He thinks this is just an ordinary premiere, unaware that the scientific community across the ocean has already been shaken by the story. When a character in the show says, "The Lord is coming," a launch system belonging to a secret organization has already locked onto a point in space.

In the show, the Trisolaran civilization is crossing the sea of stars to reach them. Outside the show, no one can say for certain whether the two protons traveling through the universe came from fiction, or whether they are racing toward the real night sky above their heads. On premiere night, the first crack is about to appear both on-screen and off.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
