Tai Sui Dragon Scale

This is not a novel about cancer. This is a novel about "how the world will surround you when scarce life-saving resources appear." At the center of the story is Dragon Scale - a thin, crimson layer that grows deep in the Ailao Mountains. It allows people to survive, but the price is that they may slowly forget important people. A family that has guarded it for thousands of years. A financial man with a debt of 1.8 Million. A financial executive who had just lost her husband. An oncologist crushed by gambling debts. A multinational fund leader who is experiencing cognitive decline. What they have in common is that they are all approaching Dragon Scale in their own way. Someone is trying to survive. Someone wants to pay off a debt. Someone is trying to figure out what happened to the K-2 project thirty years ago. Some people want to confirm whether they can remember an important person again. There are no heroes in the novel. There are no outright bad guys. Everyone has at least one real reason in hand. This makes "calling stop" a more difficult task than "advancing". There is only one sentence at the core of the system: I will start if I am willing today; I will stop if I change my mind today. This novel and its characters are purely fictitious.
