Siheyuan: Reborn as He Yuzhu, I Empty the Bank!

Reborn in 1948, He Yuzhu carried the bitter memory of freezing to death beneath a bridge and swore he would never again be Silly Zhu, the fool whom everyone in the courtyard schemed against. With his young sister to care for, all he wanted was to master the He family's Tan cuisine and uncover the truth behind his father's sudden departure years ago, so he could build a decent home for them amid these turbulent times.

But far more than silver ingots and antiques from a fallen dynasty lay buried beneath the courtyard. The artillery fire was closing in on the outskirts of the city, and foreign banks and Kuomintang offices were frantically packing up their assets to flee south. He Yuzhu had already located the vaults of several nearby banks. Gold, foreign currency, and crates of silver dollars were all within ten paces of him, and the warehouse of his super farm just happened to have room for all the wealth that was supposed to be taken overseas.

Yet the city was crawling with informants from the police stations and secret agents. In the courtyard, Jia Zhangshi and Yi Zhonghai each had their own schemes, and even his own father, He Daqing, was keeping plenty of secrets. Before he could make a move, he first had to gain a firm footing under the watchful eyes of these jackals and tigers, and wait for the moment the storm truly arrived.
