Hogwarts: The Complete Guide to Spells Leaves Malfoy Dumbfounded

When Evan, a Muggle-born first-year, was insulted by an upper-year Slytherin, he did not pull out his wand. Instead, he drew a pair of nunchucks from behind his waist and knocked the other boy down with a single strike. It was the first time the Slytherins had seen wizards duel like this.

Before starting school, Evan had acquired a compendium of spells from an Eastern Demon Emperor. It described qi magic, a system completely different from European magic. More outrageous still, these spells required neither a wand nor wizarding blood. Any living creature could learn them. He was already planning to brew a potion to tame his newly acquired honey badger and saker falcon. If he succeeded, he would have his first squad of non-wizard magical warriors.

The Sorting Hat had not even begun to speak, and Evan had already set his sights on Hogwarts' oldest Restricted Section. The demonic spells in the compendium, forbidden by the wizarding world, were waiting for him to decipher their obscure seal script. As for the Carrow upper-year lying unconscious on the ground, of course he would go complain. First, though, he would have to explain why a Muggle-born first-year had a spellbook in his arms thicker than the entire Malfoy family's library.
