The Sixth Hu of Chaotic China

During the Upheaval of the Five Barbarians, the Central Plains are in chaos, and the gentry flee south.

No one knows that beyond the Five Barbarians, there is a despised sixth barbarian tribe, scorned by everyone.

Shen Yue was once a grassroots village Party secretary in Huaxia for eight years. When he opens his eyes, he has become Yaoyuan, young lord of the Yao tribe, which has been wiped out.

His tribe is destroyed, his mother is dead, his brothers are scattered, and he has nowhere to go.

But when he picks up the bloodstained curved saber, a voice rings in his ear:

The rise and fall of the Yao tribe rests entirely on you.

And so, a most fearsome barbarian emerges in this turbulent age.

He slaughters the powerful, executes corrupt officials, and seizes territory. His fearsome reputation is so great that even the Xiongnu give him a wide berth.

But the people under his rule know the truth:

This notorious sixth barbarian clears fields, builds canals and cities, establishes clinics and schools, and turns every inch of land he seizes into the last earthly paradise in a world of chaos.

The Jin court calls him a savage, the Five Barbarians mock him as a mongrel, and the Son of Heaven's Mandate sees him as a calamity.

Yaoyuan laughs, saber in hand:

"I'll guard the flame of Huaxia for you. Anyone who wants to trample it flat can ask my blade first."
