Game: It Was Supposed to Be a Match-Three Game, but It Turned into a Bloody World War II Battle

Zhao Ming transmigrates to a parallel Blue Star and takes over a bankrupt game company. The original owner spent sixty million making Cyber Blue Star: 2077, only for Penguin Empire to copy it, throw five hundred million at a clone, and poach the core staff. With just nine days left before the anti-war competition and less than two million units of computing power available, everyone thinks it's over. Zhao Ming, however, says he wants to make a match-three game.

The game he puts together is called World War II: The Rise of the Empire. The landing craft haven't even reached shore before machine guns shred the front line, splattering blood across the screen. Shen Qinghan tests it herself, dies more than forty times, and gets so frustrated she starts cursing. The more she dies, the more she wants to restart. The rules are simple: one life, a bullet leaves you limping, and once you're dead, you can't come back. You can only lie there until the match ends.

When reporters rush in, the mole is on the ground bleeding, but Zhao Ming calmly says the other guy attacked first. The Penguin Empire plagiarism scandal and the boss beating up the employee who leaked secrets dominate the headlines, but the real bomb he's just tossed into the public conversation has only just gone live: What is "World War II"? And where is "World War I"? Countless people stare at the countdown on the official website, waiting for him to reveal the real thing.
