Great Tang: Reborn as Li Zhi

A graduate student of history unexpectedly was reborn as Li Zhi, Prince of Jin, in the seventeenth year of the Zhenguan era. The crown prince was plotting rebellion, Prince Wei was vying for the throne, and undercurrents swirled through the court. Knowing how the future would unfold, he refused to bear the name of a weak and ineffectual ruler again, and would not allow the tragedy of Empress Wu usurping the Tang to happen again.

From the Prince of Jin's residence to the Eastern Palace, from the Zhenguan era of good governance to the flourishing Yonghui era, he lay low and bided his time, establishing himself through filial piety and breaking deadlocks with strategy. He used the campaign to depose the empress to crush the Guanlong faction, and opened the civil service examinations to promote men from humble families. He sent Su Dingfang to destroy the Western Turks and annihilate Goguryeo, expanding the territory by thousands of miles and restoring the might of the Heavenly Khan.

Faced with Li Shimin's final charge, the complicated game of loving and guarding against Wu Mei, and the power struggle among the Guanlong faction, aristocratic clans, and men from humble families...

Li Zhi never wanted to be a ruler who merely preserved what he inherited.

In this life, the sun of the Tang dynasty will never set.
