Hong Kong Films: I, the Cha Chaan Teng Server, Rule Them All

After transmigrating to Hong Kong Island in 1996, Chen Wenhao becomes an ordinary waiter at a Mong Kok cha chaan teng.

He awakens the Hong Kong Movie Star Acting System. Recreate iconic scenes, and he can inherit the characters' abilities.

Recreate Infernal Affairs on a rooftop, and master the ability to read people's minds. Become Brother Mark at the pier, and two guns are enough to cow the underworld's most ruthless thugs.

I don't mix with the underworld, but the underworld has to follow my rules!

Underworld bosses come knocking to recruit him, O Bureau inspectors keep him under close watch, and a transmigrated nemesis who covets iconic scenes is lurking in the shadows.

Caught between the two sides, he uses his position as a waiter to balance the forces of law and crime, becoming a night watchman in Hong Kong Island's turbulent era. When the dust finally settles, he returns to the cha chaan teng to wipe glasses.
