Adventures in a World of Magic

Shen Yan, a young outer-sect disciple of Kunlun Ruins, tested as having a top-grade purple spiritual root, shocking the entire sect. His father, Shen Qingya, was once the most astonishingly gifted disciple Kunlun Ruins had seen in a century, but he left the sect over an unknown incident and has since vanished. To find his father, Shen Yan swore to break into the top ten of the Heavenly Rankings within four months.

In an abandoned Scripture Pavilion, Shen Yan stumbled upon the Shen family's ancestral Nine-Turn Qi Guiding Art, a cultivation method that refined spiritual energy dramatically through nine turns at the cost of immense pain. Enduring agony as though his meridians were being torn apart, he completed the first turn and felt hope in the transformation of his spiritual energy.

The appearance of Lin Wanzhao, an inner-sect prodigy, only made him more curious about his father's past. Why had the man who could have become sect master left? With questions in mind, Shen Yan headed to the Heart-Questioning Pavilion to seek answers from the sect master. Beneath the purple moon, the young man embarked on a path destined to be extraordinary.
