Siheyuan: From College Graduate to Pillar of Railway Technology

Twenty years after being reborn in the fiery years, Chen Weidong finally reaches the 1957 university graduation season.

As the top graduate of this class at the capital's Railway Institute, he has studied transport, locomotive operations, rolling stock, tracks, communications, and signaling. After graduation, he is assigned to the research institute of the capital's Railway Bureau and begins his hands-on training at Fengtai Locomotive Depot.

While everyone else who transmigrates into a courtyard spends their time squabbling with its troublesome residents over petty matters, all he wants is to make the railway system work.

The Reputation System turns other people's admiration and respect into lottery chances, strengthening his physique, insight, and ability to learn.

From modifying steam locomotive components to designing a hybrid water-heating system, and then leading a technical initiative to develop the Heping-type steam locomotive, Chen Weidong steadily turns textbook knowledge into practical technology.

When a single locomotive can save hundreds of tons of coal a year, and the entire railway system starts adopting his innovations, the schemes of the courtyard residents can no longer keep up with him.
