When primordial chaos first took shape, Heaven and Earth were not yet divided, and only a single breath of primordial energy existed. Deep within the source, a single stroke crossed by another formed the first character for “human,” and so humanity was born. Yet its fate was full of hardship: people had no clothes to cover themselves or food to fill their stomachs, while savage beasts surrounded them. The first people huddled together in despair for warmth. Suiren drilled wood to make fire and offered his flesh and blood to Heaven, winning humanity its first ray of light. Shennong tasted every herb, trading his life for a medical compendium and preserving the lifeblood of countless generations. Dayu tamed the floods, established the Nine Provinces, and cast the Nine Tripods to commemorate his achievements. As the ages passed, humanity resisted the Dao under Shang Tang and expanded its rites under King Wu of Zhou, eventually bringing the Human Way into harmony with the Heavenly Way. Yet as technology flourished, the old order faded. The Hongmeng Institute for Human Way Studies used technology to investigate the origins of existence, and all of humanity transcended, merging with Hongmeng. Faced with layer upon layer of schemes by the Entropy Shifters, the Dark Erosion Clan, mysterious organizations, and the Reverse Order Alliance, humanity held fast to the ideals of “self-determination, unity, and progress.” Alongside the Star Spirits, Crystal Radiants, Illusionals, and mechanical races, they weathered energy storms, dimensional crises, and the erosion of their origins. At last, in the decisive battle in the Chaos Star Domain, they shattered the darkness with the Sacred Sword of the Human Way and safeguarded the eternal prosperity of the multiverse. Humanity’s legacy is not carried on through bloodlines, but through an undying spirit; Hongmeng’s evolution does not proceed in isolation, but through the coexistence of all life.
