Joy of Life: Part Three

This is a fan continuation of the Joy of Life TV series, picking up where Season Two ends. It begins with Fan Xian heading south of the Yangtze to take control of the Imperial Treasury and the sacrifice at Dongyi Mountain, and follows events through the regicide, his retreat from public life, and the establishment of a new order. Emperor Qing treats the world as a chessboard, while Fan Xian transforms from a pawn into a player. After Chen Pingping gives his life to remonstrate with the emperor and the father and son finally break with each other, Fan Xian unites the forces of Northern Qi, Dongyi City, and the Overwatch Council to challenge the world's most powerful grandmaster. The tyrant of the old age falls, and the rules of a new era are rebuilt upon the ruins. The novel carries on the original's blend of political scheming and warmth, bringing every character's fate to a fitting conclusion.
