Surviving Water Margin, I Join the Outlaws to Upend the Song Dynasty

At Liao'erwa, Song Jiang succumbs to poison, Li Kui dies a gruesome death, and Lu Junyi drowns under a cloud of injustice. The 108 heroes of Liangshan, the 36 Heavenly Spirits and 72 Earthly Fiends, become political sacrifices in the imperial court's campaign to bring them to heel.

The brilliant strategist Wu Yong fakes his death and escapes, crawling out of a mountain of corpses and rivers of blood. Looking at the devastation across the Song Empire, he tears the banner of "Acting in Heaven's Name" to shreds.

"If Heaven's way is unjust, then I will defy Heaven. If the world is unrighteous, then I will slaughter the world!" Wu Yong becomes a shadowy player in the dark, sending bloodstained secret letters across the land:

Wu Song, the cold-blooded god of slaughter with a severed arm; Li Jun, the patient warlord of a chaotic age; Fan Rui, the sorcerer who forsook the Way to embrace evil...

The surviving Liangshan heroes gather in secret. They will no longer seek amnesty or remain foolishly loyal. Instead, they become swords of vengeance, assassinating corrupt officials, carving out domains across rivers and seas, and manipulating the imperial court, driving powerful ministers like Cai Jing and Gao Qiu into one deadly trap after another.

When the black-armored cavalry of Liangshan once again tramples the prefectures and shakes the capital, Song Huizong, the emperor who sits high above and excels at painting, finally realizes: the bandits they failed to wipe out all those years ago have become the death knell of the Song Empire. Whose empire is this, anyway?
