Siheyuan: A 20-Year-Old Ninth-Grade Technician and Section Chief

Zhao Xuecheng graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University and returned to the capital, hoping to throw himself straight into the work of building the country. Instead, he discovered that the house his parents had left behind had been seized by the Jia family.

Yi Zhonghai tried to pressure him with talk of neighbors helping one another, while Jia Zhangshi treated the place as her own territory.

Zhao Xuecheng didn't waste time arguing with them. As he made the Jia family pay for what they'd done, he activated the Old Six System and, at just twenty, became a Level Nine Engineer and Technical Department Chief at the steel mill.

Yi Zhonghai mocked him in front of everyone, claiming a university graduate couldn't machine anything. Zhao simply raised a hand and produced a precision part that even the veteran workers couldn't fault. Director Yang and the entire workshop were left dumbfounded.

While the courtyard's scheming residents still had their eyes on a few rooms, Zhao Xuecheng was already leading a team to make breakthroughs in machine tools and industrial equipment, with the radio repeatedly announcing his promotions.

Other people returned to the courtyard to get on with their lives. After he returned, Zhao set the country's entire industrial development into high gear.
