Genshin Impact: Pillar of Inazuma, Forever Unable to Stand Beside Eternity

After transmigrating to Inazuma five hundred years ago, Qingye Leiming rose from a young swordsman to the "Pillar of the Nation," a figure above the Tri-Commission. He stood against a single strike from the Raiden Shogun, guarded the land against calamity for fifty years, slew the demon god Orobashi, and brought Watatsumi Island under his command. Half a lifetime on the battlefield earned him the praise, "To this nation, this child is as important as a pillar to a house." Five hundred years later, his System panel showed 221 days of life remaining, and the blood he coughed from his lungs stained the documents on his desk. When Kamisato Ayaka brought him white fungus soup, he smiled and handed her his will. "After I'm gone, give this to Ei." The two had fallen out over the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree. He had resigned his general's post, and she had secluded herself in the Plane of Euthymia. They had not seen each other in a hundred years. As he lay on his deathbed, Yae Miko pushed into the kotatsu with fox ears in her mouth, forcing a smile, while his adopted daughter, Qingye Sara, knelt below and swore a blood oath. Lying in the morning light, he gazed at the lingering snow. "Ei, ordinary people can't endure a hundred years of cold war." The System displayed a molting-period alert: his old body would die, and his new body would be reborn in Mondstadt. He took one last look at the city he had guarded for five hundred years. "Next life, I won't come back."
