Marvel: Copying Traits, Starting at the Mutant Academy

Born into the Marvel universe, Lu Jing has spent twelve years growing up there. His parents are assassinated by Mutants hired by a business rival, and in his grief he awakens biological electromagnetic powers and receives an invitation to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

The moment he shakes Professor X's hand, the Trait Copy System unexpectedly activates: brief physical contact copies 50% of a core trait; moderately intimate contact unlocks 80% of its effectiveness; and close contact, available only with beautiful women, permanently replicates all their abilities.

Starting with a 50% copy of a master telepath's power, he fuses it with his electromagnetic talent to unlock electromagnetic mind interference. Through bonds with others, he copies Mystique's shapeshifting and the White Queen's Diamond Form. When facing Magneto, he steals 50% of his control over magnetism... As his traits fuse and evolve, his combat power skyrockets.

He sides with neither Professor X nor Magneto. Instead, he builds the Star Alliance and commands the business world. In the Battle of New York, an electromagnetic pulse sweeps across the Chitauri Fleet. In the struggle for the Nine Realms, he stands against the Frost Giants. In the end, as a multiversal master of electromagnetism, he forges a third path for Mutants to grow strong on their own.
