The Flooding of the Ming Dynasty

During the Zhengde era of the Great Ming, land was heavily concentrated in the hands of a few, and the court was in turmoil. The protagonist, a commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, is neither wholly righteous nor wholly wicked. By a twist of fate, he joins forces with the Zhengde Emperor to destroy the Japanese pirates' stronghold, keep them from invading, put down a vassal king's rebellion, bring down Liu Jin, dismantle the White Lotus Sect, and restore order to the court. But once he has risen to the highest ranks, one power struggle after another breaks out among the court officials and inner palace factions, bringing endless turmoil and disputes. In the end, he chooses to settle down in Jiangnan with the woman he loves.
