American Comics: Conquering Marvel Starts with Collecting Clow Cards

The moment Su Heng opens his eyes, he has fallen from the real world into the Marvel Universe. He has just gotten his hands on the Clow Book when all the Clow Cards inside flee at once, as if they have collectively gone on vacation.

He grits his teeth and opens a dessert shop in New York, working as a shopkeeper by day and the "Midnight Mage" by night, hunting down the escaped Clow Cards one by one.

The Fight Card refuses to surrender, so he has to battle it before it returns to the book. The Sweet Card wreaks magical havoc in the bakery, making the cakes so sweet they could send someone straight to heaven. The Sleep Card, on the other hand, is useful: stick it on a criminal and they drop straight off to sleep. With this motley assortment of cards, Su Heng gets by just fine, until he discovers that his employee, Gwen Stacy, has been dreaming for days about becoming Spider-Woman, and that Peter Parker's Uncle Ben is lying in a pool of blood.

Prophetic dreams, out-of-control cards, and a shopkeeper who's always smiling. As the Clow Cards turn Marvel's plot into something unrecognizable, Su Heng finally realizes that this world doesn't need a superhero. It needs a mage who can bring all the runaway magic back under control.
