Riftwalker: I Trade My Lifespan for Fate

This world has been torn apart by rifts. The mutated spiritual energy pouring out of them drives demonic beasts berserk, but also lets cultivators advance faster.

Lu Chen is a low-ranking hunter-cultivator on the eastern frontier, making his living by hunting mutated demonic beasts. He has a Riftborn constitution, allowing him to absorb spiritual energy in a special way at the edge of the rifts. His cultivation rises faster than anyone else's, but at the cost of his lifespan. Every breakthrough shortens his life.

Twelve years ago, his father left behind a fragment and half a notebook before entering the depths of a rift. He never returned. The fragment lets Lu Chen see the flow of spiritual energy, but it has also made him a target hunted by every faction.

When the resonance of a second broken jade fragment comes from the north, Lu Chen realizes that the truth behind his father's disappearance, the secret of the fragments, and the origin of the rifts tearing this world apart all point in the same direction. In that abyss, someone has been waiting for him for twelve years...
