In the Name of the People: I, Qi Tongwei, Rebuild Handong from the Start

The story opens at Lone Eagle Ridge, where Hou Liangping is certain victory is within his grasp.

But Qi Tongwei suddenly raises his gun and kills himself, and time rewinds straight to seven days earlier.

Qi Tongwei now: I stand on the rooftop of the Provincial Party Committee building, facing the evening breeze.

Sha Ruijin now: Staring at the bloodstains left on the ground, he suddenly crushes the glass in his hand.

Hou Liangping now: Clutching a case file that has become nothing but waste paper, he is stopped by armed police on duty at the hospital room door and cannot take a single step inside.

Qi Tongwei smiles calmly. "That move deserves to be called a desperate, all-or-nothing gambit."

Hou Liangping is indignant. "You clearly broke the rules and cheated!"

Qi Tongwei raises an eyebrow and retorts. "Can't accept it? Then try doing the same yourself."

The officials of Handong secretly groan. "Please, you two, stop fighting. If the investigation goes any further, none of us will escape accountability."
