Honghuang: I, Hong Yun, Cultivate Resentment, Not Merit

Transmigrating into the Primordial World, he becomes the unlucky Hongyun Ancestor, the man who was schemed against and killed.

He gave up his seat of sagehood in the Zixiao Palace. What did he get in return? Kunpeng's sneak attack, Styx's encirclement, and the lofty indifference of the sages. The golden light of merit shone across the Primordial World, yet could not reach the grave of an honest man.

If good people can't survive, then I won't be one anymore!

Merit? I don't want it! Resentment, that is the foundation of my Great Dao!

You, Hongjun, use merit to control karma and treat all living beings like game pieces. Then I'll use resentment to rewrite Heaven's mandate.

You, Yuanshi Tianzun, sit high above all others. I'll burn the Yuxu Palace to ruins with the flames of my resentment.

You, Jieyin and Zhunti, schemed to make me give up my cushion. I'll flatten Mount Sumeru and expose the cracks in your compassion!

While everyone cultivates merit, I'll walk the Path of Resentment alone. The resentment of all living beings, of cultivators, of countless ages, will all return to me. Karmic flames will burn through the thirty-six heavens, and resentment will seep through the eighteen levels of the netherworld.

Back then, you made me the bait. Today, I'll make the Heavenly Dao find out what it means to suffer hatred across the ages.

Hongyun walks through karmic flames, with mountains of corpses and seas of blood behind him. The rules of the Heavenly Dao shatter beneath his feet, inch by inch.
