The Great Chaos of Journey to the West

The pilgrimage to the West is not a redemption. It is a purge.

After five hundred years of imprisonment, Sun Wukong puts on the golden headband and escorts Tang Sanzang west. But with every demon he subdues, his doubts deepen. These so-called monsters are nothing more than dissenters the Celestial Court and Spirit Mountain have joined forces to eliminate. He is becoming an executioner of the very system he once fought as a freedom-loving rebel who wreaked havoc in Heaven.

And the truth is far more cruel: the pilgrimage is a precision machine designed to completely reformat Sun Wukong. Tang Sanzang is a pawn in his tenth life, Zhu Bajie conceals a secret of the Celestial Court, Sha Wujing is the Jade Emperor's spy, and the White Dragon Horse bears the fate of the Dragon Clan.

When their mortal bodies are shed at Lingyun Crossing, they will not become Buddhas. Their consciousness will be erased. This time, Sun Wukong chooses to flip the board, not to wreak havoc in Heaven, but to give the Three Realms true freedom.
