The Officialdom of Mount Lingshan Is Rotten, So Wukong Takes on the Powers of the Heavens

I am the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, a first-rank official. Anyone I meet is one rank below me.

But this title comes with no government office, no subordinates, and no salary. Even the Ministry of War won't assign me any troops.

To put it plainly, it's an empty title.

Until the Jade Emperor issues an order: I'm to serve concurrently as an imperial commissioner for the Anti-Corruption Bureau and head south to investigate the case of the Peach Garden's missing funds.

A huge sum from thirty years ago, the accounts destroyed, and everyone who handled the money either dead or retired. The trail leads straight to my sworn elder brother from back then, the Bull Demon King.

Taibai Jinxing says, "This mission is far more dangerous than your havoc in Heaven back in the day."

I laugh. "I even dared to wreck the Jade Emperor's Peach Banquet. You think I'm afraid to audit a few lousy books?"
