Videos Connect the Past and Present: The First Emperor Is Shocked from the Start

Song Xuan, a history PhD, graduates straight into unemployment and lives in a rented room, getting by on instant noodles.

A mysterious video app called Myriad Worlds Projection suddenly appears on his phone. Any video he posts is projected simultaneously across the sky above Qin, Han, Tang, and Ming China.

Half skeptical, Song Xuan uploads his first ranking video to scrape together his rent: The Ten Most Accomplished Emperors of the Dragon Kingdom.

The moment the video appears, every dynasty erupts!

In front of Xianyang Palace, Emperor Qin Shi Huang, Ying Zheng, stares up at the ratings on the sky screen and falls silent for the time it takes an incense stick to burn. "I... only rank seventh?" In Weiyang Palace, Emperor Wu of Han, Liu Che, smashes three tables. "I conquered the Xiongnu at Langjuxu Mountain and earned glory for the ages. There are still six people ahead of me?"

In Yingtian Prefecture, Emperor Taizu of Ming, Zhu Yuanzhang, furiously draws his sword. "That brat Lao Si ranks ahead of me? Impossible!"

The Ten Most Corrupt Emperors, the Ten Most Tragic Heroes, the Ten Great Usurpations... All of ancient China goes completely mad.

Hu Hai kneels before the palace and begs Emperor Qin Shi Huang to spare him. Li Shimin breaks into a cold sweat under Li Yuan's questioning. Zhu Di lies awake all night in Yingtian Prefecture. Zhuge Liang silently sheds tears as he reads the words "His spirit shattered at Wuzhang Plains" on the sky screen.
