I Am a Detective in the Ming Dynasty: From the Start, I Had a Run-Down Casehouse

Su Ye, a modern forensic anthropologist, transmigrates to the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty and awakens a golden finger: a modern criminal investigation laboratory that lets her solve cases using contemporary techniques such as fingerprinting, DNA analysis, and ballistics.

From the start, she rises from death row to become an adviser at the county yamen, solving one bizarre case after another with investigative methods far ahead of her time:

A woman's corpse in a deep well, a locked-room murder, cheating in the imperial examinations, palace conspiracies, and more.

She face-slaps corrupt officials at every turn, climbing from adviser to a first-rank official overseeing the Court of Judicial Review.

She goes from adversary to lover with Bai Ling'er, a thousand-household commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, and together they take on the East Depot's Liu Jin and push for judicial reform.

In the end, she retires after accomplishing her mission, withdrawing to the mountains to train a new generation of master detectives.
