Hong Kong Films: I'm Already a Big Shot, Who Still Collects Protection Money?

Su Ze transmigrates to the Hong Kong crime-drama world of the 1980s, becoming a low-ranking 49er in the Wo Shing Wo triad, where he awakens the System that turns trash into treasure.

Watching Big D and Ah Lok beat each other bloody over a rotten piece of wood, while his underlings risk their lives for a 200-dollar travel allowance, Su Ze sneers. "Without money, you're worth less than a dog out here! Brothers, toss your watermelon knives and come make money with me!"

He doesn't fight for territory. He fights for market share, dealing one devastating commercial blow after another.

He makes his first fortune refurbishing used appliances and running arcade game businesses.

Then he acquires Ding rights and builds high-rises, earning the underworld's respectful title of Brother Ze.

In the end, he short-sells Wall Street, and all of Hong Kong respectfully calls him Mr. Su.

His moves drive both the underworld and the legitimate world completely crazy.

Chan Ho-nam: "I'm getting slashed with my men on the streets, while even Brother Ze's parking attendants are driving Mercedes-Benzes?"

Big D and Ah Lok: "Ah Ze, take the Dragon Head Staff and use it for firewood! You have to be our next chairman. Please take the gang public!"

Lui Chi-lim: "Arrest him? He pays hundreds of billions in taxes every year, and hundreds of thousands of employees depend on him! Arrest him and Hong Kong's economy collapses outright!"

Years later, Su Ze, the richest man in the Dragon Nation, shrugs helplessly before Time magazine. "I'm really not a godfather of the underworld. I'm just a patriotic businessman."
