The Doomsday Gene Project

A red-mist virus sweeps through Jiangcheng, turning nine out of ten people into zombies. Survivors evolve by consuming zombie cores, but there is a thirty percent chance they will lose control and become monsters. Chen Chen, a discharged soldier, is trapped in the old district with little food left and an injured left arm. From behind a wardrobe, he watches his neighbor get devoured. At the brink of despair, he unexpectedly awakens precise genetic fusion. He can consume zombie cores without going berserk, and can direct them to enhance his strength, speed, and healing. The cores become fuel for his evolution. But when he returns with supplies, his neighbors have been slaughtered by the Black Scorpion Gang, the Falcon Squad is surrounded, and the guns in the safe zone have quietly turned on him. In the apocalypse, human nature is more terrifying than the zombie hordes. Chen Chen can only grip his blade and fight his way through the zombies and villains.
