Siheyuan: Making Penicillin in the 1950s

Lin Qiang transmigrated into the Four-Courtyard Compound.

His younger sister was on the verge of death from pneumonia, all because his family couldn't afford a single dose of penicillin.

Rally the whole compound to donate?

That would barely make a difference!

Sell the house and beg for help?

Penicillin was invented to save everyone, not just the wealthy!

Lin Qiang found an abandoned warehouse and used a crock of pickled vegetables to make the first batch of homemade penicillin.

From then on, his life was a constant winning streak.

Temporary worker, pharmacist, senior pharmacist, chief pharmacist.

He made not only penicillin, but all kinds of life-saving medicine.

With his expertise and research, he became a pioneer of his era and lived a life unlike the other residents of the compound.
