In the Middle East, I Inherited Blackwater from the Start

In 2026, a surprise US-Israeli attack killed Iran's Supreme Leader, igniting an all-out war across the Middle East. The protagonist, Lin Xiao, was a war correspondent struggling to survive in this meat grinder when he unexpectedly awakened the War Contract System. By accepting war contracts from various factions, from transporting supplies to assassinating leaders, and from local defense to commanding campaigns, he can earn enormous sums of money, advanced weapons blueprints, the loyalty of elite soldiers, and even intelligence on cutting-edge technology.

Starting out alone, he rescues trapped overseas compatriots and forms the Ghosts mercenary group. He helps Iran lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz, teaches the Houthi forces guerrilla warfare amid relentless urban battles, and manipulates oil prices from behind the scenes to reap profits from Wall Street. As his power grows, he becomes not only the de facto master of the Middle Eastern battlefield, but also an unignorable "sixth power" in the contests between great nations, thanks to his arms trade and intelligence network. Ultimately, he establishes a military-commercial conglomerate that transcends national borders, wielding the power to decide the fate of the Middle East with a single word.
