The Gu Tomb: Living Sacrifice

"Snake Coil Valley? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Wang Laowu, the butcher, stared wide-eyed. "Back in my grandfather's day, four hunters went in after a lame wild boar, and not one of them came back! Later, the village organized a search. All they found at the mouth of the valley were the bags of provisions the hunters had brought with them. The flatbreads inside were moldy and covered in fuzz!"

"That's right, that's right," Auntie Zhao from the general store chimed in. "The old folks all say there's something unclean in that valley! At night, you can hear a woman crying, along with the sound of snakes slithering, rustling, rustling. It makes your scalp crawl!"
