Soldiers Sortie: The Era of Chenghua

Lin Yan, a researcher at a military institute in 2025, transmigrates to an army academy in 1994 after a lab accident, only to discover that he is in the world of Soldiers Sortie. From the shock of confirming the unit designation "702nd Regiment" to his determination to join Steel Seventh Company, he sets out on a journey to transform a traditional infantry company into a modern combined-arms force, armed with military knowledge from 2025.?

When he first joins Steel Seventh Company, Lin Yan breaks the record in the 3,000-meter run and scores a perfect mark at the shooting range, silencing doubts that "military academy graduates are all talk." His precise analysis of tactical weaknesses also earns him a one-month trial from Company Commander Gao Cheng. As he spends day after day with comrades like Shi Jin, Wu Liuyi, and Xu Sanduo, he gradually becomes part of the group, helping Xu Sanduo adapt to training, while quietly planting the seeds of combined-arms reform. He proposes a "flanking maneuver with suppressive fire" that helps Seventh Company defeat Second Company, then drafts an initial plan for building combined-arms forces and uses the Gulf War as an example to convince army command to make Steel Seventh Company a pilot unit.
