Polar Cold

On the uninhabited ice field at the edge of the Arctic Circle, scientific expedition team members Lin Ye and Lao Zheng fell into a desperate situation of lack of supplies and cut off communications when their drone crashed out of control. The broken cabin trapped Lao Zheng's legs, and the meager supplies could not sustain the long wait. Amidst the double torture of severe cold and hallucinations, he used snow as a monument to bid farewell to his companions, and with a faint hope, trudged toward the rising sun. When the roar of the rescue helicopter pierced the silence of the ice sheet, this desperate struggle with the polar cold ended with the survival and loss of life, composing a desolate tragedy about persistence, parting and hope.
