Tang Dynasty, Here I Come!

The An Lushan Rebellion erupted, and the golden age of the Tang Dynasty crumbled amid the flames of war. When modern-day cardsharp Li Xu opened his eyes, he had become a soldier tasked with burying the dead at Mawei Slope, including the executed Yang Guifei. He should have simply gone with the flow, but he refused to become another speck of dust in a chaotic age. Acting decisively, he switched the body with another and saved the beauty, carving out a chance for himself to survive.

He used phosphorus powder to fake miracles and played at being a ghost under cover of night, fooling Gao Lishi, who wielded immense power. With his silver tongue and endless tricks, he maneuvered between An Lushan's rebel forces and the imperial court, advancing cautiously at every step. He carried no burden of loyalty to the emperor and no shackles of morality. He had only one conviction: survive, and rise higher than everyone else.

He made money, trained troops, and manufactured gunpowder, turning his modern knowledge into a weapon in a world at war and building a power of his own amid blood and fire. Facing the tottering Tang Dynasty, Li Xu gave a cold laugh.
