You Said I Should Rest and Keep a Low Profile, So Why Did You Make Me Regent?

Xiao Mingxi, Princess of Zhaoping, transmigrates into a book. She suffers from a heart condition, and her life flickers like a candle in the wind. In the Great Sheng Dynasty, women are forbidden from participating in government, with the princess as the sole exception, permitted to govern with an official seal. She coughs up blood and wakes beside a bowl of poisoned soup. Using her ability to foresee the future, she turns the tables and exposes private soldiers within the household and secret lines of communication with the enemy. With unrest on the frontier and princes fighting for the throne, she takes charge of the jade seal despite her frail health, advancing cautiously at every turn. Able to foresee only the single most important event in the next three days, she chooses to tread carefully. Court intrigue is a game of chess, and from behind the scenes she maneuvers the pieces, stirring up turmoil at court. Surrounded by enemies, she coolly plots and uses retreat to advance. In this game, she will rewrite the fate that says women cannot rule as regents.
