The Siheyuan Where the Sun Never Shines

When a way out becomes a dead end, when home becomes a prison, can you still trust the person standing before you?

The joy of inheriting my ancestral home vanished the moment I pushed open its creaking wooden door. This courtyard house never saw daylight. Sunlight could never pierce its heavy eaves, and deeper than the darkness was the secret my ancestors had buried for half a century.

When the first strange sound echoed at midnight, when the first pair of spying eyes vanished behind the window lattice, I finally understood: this inheritance was a terrifying pact, with my life as the stake. Leave, and the secret will devour me. Stay, and the darkness is already turning me into one of its own.
