War of Resistance: I Refused to Play a Traitor and Sang Shanghai to Tears

Transmigrating to Shanghai in 1937, Lin Yu is forced from the start to sing for the collaborationist film Cherry Blossom Love.

Popular young star Chai Kun is waiting to watch him get on his knees, while Japanese officers are waiting to see him grovel.

At the crucial moment, the National Salvation System activates!

With a song called On the Songhua River, Lin Yu flips the table right there!

“My home is on the Songhua River in the Northeast...”

His bloodcurdling lament brings every Chinese listener to tears, leaves the traitors livid, and sends the Japanese invaders into a rage!

Film queen Yang Mi loses her composure and denounces the traitors on his behalf: “Where is your homeland?”

Huaxing bans him? Demands a sky-high penalty?

Yang Mi slams ten gold bars onto the table. “I want him. I'll pay his contract penalty!”

From Crossroads to Spring River Flows East, Lin Yu awakens the soul of the nation with one film after another.

You invade with guns and cannons, I'll strike back with culture! This is one man's cultural resistance!
