The Lotus Lantern: I'm the Real Protagonist

When Yang Zhao opens his eyes, he discovers that he has become Erlang Shen, the most tragic villain in Lotus Lantern. With the "nephew saves his mother" plot about to begin, he decides to strike first.

In this life, he will no longer be the Judicial God who endures humiliation and bears burdens. Before Chenxiang is even born, he has already laid out an astonishing scheme: secretly altering the Book of Life and Death and establishing his own power in the underworld; reforming the Heavenly Court with an iron hand and keeping authority firmly in his grasp; and placing spies throughout the mortal world as he waits for the right moment.

When Chenxiang finally sets out to save his mother, he discovers that everything has already changed:

The Lotus Lantern that should have been his has already recognized Yang Jian as its master;

The young woman who should have understood and stood by him has eyes only for that stern yet gentle Judicial God.

Even more shocking to Chenxiang, as he stands alone and bereft atop Mount Hua, the uncle he has always regarded as his enemy reaches out to him:

At that very moment, high above the Ninth Heaven, the Jade Emperor finally realizes the Judicial God's true intentions. He never wanted merely to save his sister. He intends to completely overturn the established order of the Three Realms!
