The Island Lighthouse

In the summer of 1939, military intelligence agent Liu Mingzhang witnessed his mentor, Du Guozhong, murdered in Chongqing. His mentor left behind a fragmented final command: Liu must go to Shanghai and infiltrate the Japanese puppet secret service's Agency 76 to find a contact known by the codename Tailor. He repeatedly stressed that Liu must trust only one person. Carrying the stigma of a traitor and a host of unsolved mysteries, Liu Mingzhang went alone into the den of Agency 76. His defection earned him the deep hatred of his former classmate and close friend, Zheng Shaoqiu, deputy chief of the Shanghai station, who swore to personally eliminate the traitor. Then, by chance, Liu reunited with Su Wanting, his former lover and an underground Party member. His contempt and lack of understanding wounded her even more deeply.

Inside Agency 76, he walked a tightrope between Director Li Shiqun's probing, his colleagues' scrutiny, and the surveillance of the Japanese Plum Agency. He carried out dangerous missions to win their trust while desperately searching in the darkness for Tailor, hoping to unravel the mystery of trust his mentor had left behind with his life. Fighting alone, Liu Mingzhang was like a beacon on a dark, isolated island, holding fast to his faith amid endless betrayals and dangers as he searched for a glimmer of light, fulfilling the unfinished mission passed to him at the cost of his mentor's life.
