The King of Gamblers

A genius cardsharp cast out by his sect, unaware that he is at the heart of a storm.

In 2010, twenty-six-year-old Ouyang Jing is handsome and dashing, yet has already spent eight years wandering the underworld. At eighteen, he was painfully expelled from his sect by Ouyang Kong, the supreme master of the art of cheating at games of chance, who left him with just one parting line: "Forge your own path and see all the ways of the world." With his inscrutable skills, he gambles his way through life, thinking he can spend his days carefree. But after rescuing an elderly man who was being swindled on the street, he is unexpectedly swept into the vortex of a local loan-sharking syndicate.

Meanwhile, Chen Hao, a retired special forces soldier, is ready to spill blood to save his younger sister, trapped in a gambling debt. Ouyang Jing uses his exquisite cardsharping skills to break the deadlock, showing Chen Hao a different kind of power and forging a bond between them that could survive death. The beginnings of a team take shape, and the loan-sharking syndicate's revenge soon follows. Behind it all, though, everything seems to point toward a shadow named Situ Xuan...

See how Ouyang Jing leads his steadily growing team, maneuvering among the country's ten greatest underground forces and effortlessly navigating casinos, card games, and schemes that prey on people's hearts. A number of women, each with her own distinct personality, enter his life in turn, some becoming allies, others holding him back
