Echoes of the Republic: The Knock at the Door

A forgotten curse from Republican-era China. A ghostly door that kills the moment it is knocked upon.

Lin Xuan, a courier for the Ghost Post Office, receives an extremely dangerous assignment: venture into Heshan Community, long sealed off by a paranormal fog, and retrieve a mysterious black sandalwood box.

The mission offers only one chilling warning: “Beware abnormal sounds. Do not listen to the echoes.”

The moment they step into the community, they plunge into an endless expanse of gray-white fog. Time has stopped, all signals are cut off, and the only thing to be heard is the dull, steady sound that sometimes comes from deep within the mist: Knock! Knock! Knock!

Anyone who hears it drops dead on the spot. There is no cure.

But as he tries to untangle the knot of death from the past, he rouses the top ghost tamers of the present day.

“I hear some old relics around here are getting restless?”
