The Northern Song Dynasty's Greatest Martial Saint

In Northern Song Bianliang, funeral music from the Tianbo Yang Residence echoed through the city. The Yang family had nine generals guarding the empire's nine frontiers, yet a conspiracy involving 300,000 Liao cavalry and an enemy within wiped them all out in a single day. Nine black coffins lay in the courtyard, and the estate was draped in mourning white, the grief so heavy it was hard to breathe. Lady She suppressed her sorrow and guarded the Yang family's last surviving heir: Yang Yansi, the Seventh Son, once named Champion Marquis at seventeen, but blinded and stripped of his martial prowess after an "accident."

No one knew that Yang Yansi, his eyes wrapped in black silk, had secretly refined the number-one flame on the Divine Fire List, the Emperor's Heart Flame. He had broken through the limits of martial cultivation and become the second Martial Saint in the two hundred years since the founding emperor of Song. With his sight restored, he saw his six future sisters-in-law remain true to their vows, dressed in mourning. He also witnessed his fiancée's father, Pan Renmei, use the funeral to break off the engagement in public, humiliating the Yang family with every word and taking obvious pleasure in it.

With old grudges still unsettled, a new humiliation had been added. Yang Yansi suppressed his raging fury, hiding his edge behind the guise of an invalid. As he investigated the conspiracy behind his father and brothers' deaths, he also prepared to avenge the Yang family. The once-in-a-generation prodigy had risen from the ashes as a Martial Saint. Watch how this blind "invalid" stirs the winds of change, makes the Liao invaders and traitors pay their blood debt, and restores the Yang family's name as loyal heroes.
