"When the saint is absent, heaven and earth use writing as their bones; when ghosts walk at night, scholars use their souls as lamps." Wengu is a long fantasy that "uses Confucianism to prove Taoism and words to calm the soul". It describes "reading" as the most intense practice - every time you understand a word, your soul becomes heavier; every time you copy a scripture, the world becomes quieter. The story begins with a green lantern and a wordless bamboo slip, and unfolds an epic story about a young man from a poor family who uses his broken body to make up for what is left in the sky and calms down the underworld with his small words. There are no flying swords here, only pens; there are no pills, only ink. The real battlefield lies between the lines. This novel and its characters are purely fictitious. Any similarity is purely coincidental and should not be imitated.
