Siheyuan: An Artful Life, Starting as an Eighth-Grade Worker

After waking from a deep sleep, master craftsman Lin Wei finds himself transported to a courtyard in the 1960s, where he has become a newly promoted Grade One fitter at a steel mill.

From the start, he binds himself to the Craftsman God System. As long as he lives mindfully and devotes himself to mastering his trade, he can keep leveling up and earning rewards.

The courtyard is a madhouse, its residents fighting tooth and nail over every petty squabble.

Qin Huairu wants to bleed him dry? Jia Zhangshi wants to take advantage of him? Xu Damao wants to cause trouble? The Third Lord is already clicking away at his abacus?

Lin Wei wipes his hands on his lathe tool and smiles faintly.

You can fight among yourselves. I'll live my own life.

While the Jia family is still gnawing on cornmeal buns, Lin Wei is enjoying white-flour mantou with braised pork.

While Xu Damao is still feeling smug about owning a bicycle, Lin Wei has already built himself a radio.

While the First Lord is still plotting how to make Silly Zhu support him in his old age, Lin Wei has already used his maxed-out skills to move into a detached house provided by the factory.

He doesn't go looking for trouble, but he isn't afraid of it either. Treat me with respect, and I'll return it tenfold. Push your luck, and I'll show you what it means to be crushed by sheer technical skill.
