Schemes and Upheaval in the Tang Dynasty

In the early years of the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, Lin Mo, a modern science and engineering graduate, unexpectedly transmigrates into the body of Changsun Chong, the eldest legitimate son of Changsun Wuji. The original Changsun Chong is a notorious playboy in Chang'an with a terrible reputation. Emperor Taizong of Tang even puts his engagement to Princess Changle, Li Li, on hold, deeming him "unfit for great things." With a modern outlook and knowledge of history, Changsun Chong is determined to change his fate.

Yet the powerful courtiers dismiss him as a wastrel and repeatedly undermine him, trying to keep him from gaining power and resources. Caught in the whirlpool of political struggle, Changsun Chong faces a dilemma: should he use modern knowledge and do whatever it takes to seize power quickly, or hold fast to modern ideals of equality and the rule of law, struggling to move forward in an ancient society with a rigid hierarchy? If his identity as someone from another time is exposed, it could provoke panic and a manhunt by the forces of the entire ancient world.

Though Changsun Chong has a modern outlook, he lacks martial strength after arriving in the past. The original owner's reputation as a playboy also leads others to misunderstand him, hindering his efforts and the growth of his influence. The ancient world's rigid hierarchy and traditional values also weigh on him, limiting his freedom to apply modern knowledge. As he gradually makes his mark in the political struggle...
