Based on the classic legend "The Legend of White Snake", on the basis of retaining the traditional story framework, it incorporates new era elements for interpretation and creation. An in-depth study of the evolution of the legend of "The Legend of the White Snake" in literature, folk operas and oral stories in various periods was conducted. From the perspectives of cultural roots and social background, the author unearthed the ancient social marriage concepts, religious beliefs such as the Taoist concept of gods, the Buddhist idea of causality and reincarnation, and the folk pursuit of beautiful love and justice reflected in the love story between the White Snake and Xu Xian. The book explores the poignant love between White Snake and Xu Xian across the boundary between human and demon from multiple angles. It also reinterprets characters such as Fa Hai, making the whole story more three-dimensional and full.
