Xianxia: I'm a Green Snake, and from the Start I Went After Fahai

The waters of West Lake are cold. Leifeng Pagoda seals away Bai Suzhen. In a fit of fury, Xiaoqing storms Jinshan Temple and denounces the Buddha on the lotus throne for being blind to justice.

The Buddha manifests and debates the cycle of cause and effect with her, then makes a wager with Xiaoqing: if she can change Fahai's tribulations, he will free the sisters. If she loses, her spirit consciousness will be stripped away and cast into the cycle of reincarnation.

Carrying her memories back to the time before Fahai became a monk, Xiaoqing helps him survive each calamity: the Wailing Ghost Forest of Jiuling, the Jinguan Post Station, and Longshan in Fenghe.

But the final tribulation lies within herself. She painfully says goodbye to Fahai. The man who has always despised demons begs her to stay, but she remains hard-hearted.

When the wager ends, Xiaoqing wins, only to learn that Fahai has fallen into demonic ways.

A golden alms bowl may cover his head, but how can it suppress the karmic fire in his heart?

Seated on the lotus throne, how can the Buddha understand the passions of the mortal world?

A tangled web of cause and effect, a multitude of entanglements, all unfold in this fantastical tale of fated tribulation.
