Romance of the Three Kingdoms

It takes nearly a hundred years of history from the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the early years of the Western Jin Dynasty as the background, and takes the rise and fall of the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu as the main line. The opening chapter tells the story of political corruption at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Zhang Jiao launched the Yellow Turban Uprising. Heroes from all walks of life took advantage of the situation, such as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei, who became sworn brothers in Taoyuan and began to rise to prominence. Subsequently, Dong Zhuo came to Beijing to take power, triggering a joint crusade by the princes. In the troubled times, Cao Cao gradually rose up and took the emperor to order the princes and unify the north; Liu Bei visited the thatched cottage three times to invite Zhuge Liang and established the Shu Han regime in Shu; Sun Quan inherited his father and brother's legacy, occupied Jiangdong and established Soochow. After that, the three forces competed with each other. In the Battle of Chibi, the coalition forces of Sun and Liu defeated Cao Cao, forming a situation of three kingdoms. As the story progresses, Zhuge Liang of the Shu Han Dynasty made several northern expeditions but failed; the internal power changes of the Cao Wei regime; and the political corruption in the later period of Soochow. In the end, Sima Yan usurped Wei and established the Western Jin Dynasty, destroying Shu and Wu successively, ending the disputes among the three kingdoms and realizing the unification of the country.
