The Divine Treasures of Fuxi

I was born in a small village called Banshan Village in Wumeng City, Yun Province. I grew up relying on my grandfather, who made a living by setting up a stall and telling fortunes. He told me that I was descended from Fuxi and had a mission of my own to fulfill. When I was nine, he passed down to me a secret divination manual left by our ancestors, called the Yin-Yang Qian-Kun Almanac. When I was sixteen, I suddenly saw dark energy swirling across my grandfather's face, a sign of terrible misfortune. I immediately told him, but he merely nodded solemnly and said, "What is meant to come will come." He hurried into his study and returned with two things: an old tortoiseshell engraved with seal-script runes, and a bronze sword covered in the sixty-four hexagrams of Fuxi. After placing them in my hands, he urged me to leave at once and go to the city's Guanlong Pavilion to find an eccentric man with a protruding brow ridge and six fingers on one hand. My grandfather assured me that if I found him, he would be able to keep me safe. I had no time to think it over. I immediately boarded a bus to the city, and so began my turbulent and unpredictable life.
