The Haunted Debt of Desolate Village

More than twenty years ago, entrepreneur Zhou Hong signed a land-transfer contract with farmers in Qingping Village to build a factory. But after his funding dried up and the market changed, the project was left unfinished, forcing him to stop paying the land-transfer fees. Years later, Zhou Hong secured investment to restart the project, but the farmers went back on their word, insisting they had never received the payments and that the contract was forged. With no other choice, Zhou Hong paid an additional million yuan. When the land was being prepared, the farmers again unjustly claimed nearly sixty more mu of land and demanded transfer fees for it. After that, strange things began happening in the village: crops failed, an old well dried up, and eerie noises could be heard everywhere. The villagers sought help from a spirit medium, who told them that they had angered the land deity by breaking their agreement and were being punished. In the end, Zhou Hong led them in sincerely apologizing to the land deity, and peace returned to the village. Zhou Hong also resumed his entrepreneurial journey and made a new agreement with the villagers.
